Au Bon Vieux Temps by Guerlain: launched in 1890. Created by Jacques Guerlain. The name means "The Good Old Times" and recalls the scents of the old potpourri jars (sweet jars) found in homes and the heavy musk worn by so many in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Gouttes Parfumées - Scented Pocket Drops

Guerlain's Gouttes Parfumées (Scented Pocket Drops) were small, pocket sized glass tubes holding perfume. The cylindrical vials were topped by ground glass ball stoppers. These bottles are very rare and can be very hard to find. They most likely date to around 1860s-1880s.

Some perfumes that could be found: Spring Flowers, Fleurs de Serre, Frangipane, and more.

Unusual green glass bottle with bronze wings and cap. This beautiful bottle was created by Jacques Guerlain in 1914 and was limited to only 3 copies.

The bottle stands 9.5 cm tall.

Jacques Guerlain was a great art and history enthusiast, this bottle and it is certainly inspired by an antique vase of porphyry, "eagle" Suger.

This bottle was undoubtedly made ​​for a private commission and can be considered a work of art in its own right as its implementation is realistic and exceptional.

Rare Guerlain Flacon "Vinaigrier Ottoman" Fetches 61,065 Euros at Auction

Rare Guerlain bottle from 1912, known as the Flacon "Vinaigrier Ottoman", sold for 61,065 Euros at a 2010 auction of Rambouillet Faure,  surpassed the previous Guerlain world record price for a vintage bottle which sold for 45,600 Euros, also in 2010.


Beautiful ancient amphora styled flacon, sometimes you may find this with enameled designs. Extremely rare and exceptional bottle decanter-style "Vinaigrier Ottoman" colorless glass, molded, pressed cylindrical section, the lobed bulbous belly, high funnel neck, richly decorated with polychrome painted oriental designs of stopper, painted olive red and blue, richly accented with gold, created by Pochet et du Courval. Model available at that time on special order. Still sealed with original perfume (unknown scent). Stands 21 cm tall.

Rare Guerlain Perfume Bottle Fetches 45,600 Euros

Rare Guerlain bottle from 1870, molded with "Guerlain rue de la paix", "depose" sold for 45,600 Euros at a 2010 auction of Toledano Arcachon (Gironde), deemed a "world record," by Bernard Gangler, worldwide expert in perfume bottles collection.

The bottle is given a satin finish in some areas, as well as on the stopper, given an applied patina over the satin finish.

Visage de Nuée Face Powder c1945

In 1945, Guerlain introduced it's "Visage de Nuée" (Face Cloud) face powder.  This lattice design shown on the boxes was imitating limed wood and was also popular on the perfume presentation boxes for Coque D'Or, Dawamesk and Kriss.

• 82cc/82ml/2.7 oz - 10,5cm/4.13" (1931), ground blue glass truncated stopper in the shape of a French policeman's cap 

World War II Version, all clear glass, without cobalt blue band.

Candide Effluve: Created by Jacques Guerlain in 1921 but only launched the following year; in USA by 1924, it was intended to connote the innocent touch of a Virgin or young woman.

So what does it smell like? Notes include bergamot, lemon, ylang-ylang, lilac, muguet, styrax, hyacinth, lilac, orris, rose, amber, jasmine, iris, angelica, patchouli, vetiver, benzoin, tonka bean, heliotrope, thyme and vanilla.

The perfume was presented in a ‘Lyre’ bottle and the Flacon Brun Fume, made by Baccarat, starting in 1933.

Discontinued, date unknown, still being sold in 1946.
